JOHANNESBURG - A top Johannesburg police official has been killed.
He was allegedly stabbed to death outside a McDonald's fast food outlet in Turfontein.
This is the latest police officer to be killed with two others killed by criminals on the N3 last weekend.
Gauteng police have offered a reward of R400,000 for any information that leads to the successful conviction of those responsible for the officers' deaths.
Constables Mthokozisi Myezi and Casey Mafokoane were shot dead after stopping a vehicle near the Modderfontein off ramp last Sunday.
The two officers are expected to buried in their respective hometowns today and tomorrow.
Police Minister Nathi Nhleko has condemned the killings and says something must be done to ensure the safety of officers.
His spokesperson Musa Zondi said, "The country is losing experienced cops which means that we'll be spending more money training new cops."
