Bail granted to truck driver in Collins Chabane crash

JOHANNESBURG - The truck driver accused of causing the accident that led to the deaths of Public Service and Administration Minister Collins Chabane and his two bodyguards, Sergeants Lesiba Sekele and Lawrence Lentsoane on the N1 Highway outside Polokwane, has been granted R5,000 bail.

Amukelani Rikhotso appeared in the Polokwane Magistrates Court this morning where his bail application was heard.

He has been charged with three counts of culpable homicide.

Chabane, Sekele and Lentsoane died on impact when they crashed into Rikhotso's truck on the N1 between Mokopane and Polokwane earlier this month.
