JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng police have arrested a man after the body of a dead woman was found in the back of his bakkie in Randburg this afternoon.

The man was arrested after security guards called police about two suspicious looking men in the area earlier.

Police say when the guards approached the men, one of them got into the bakkie and drove away, while the other fled on foot.

The driver of the bakkie was cornered by security guards and subsequently arrested while the second man is still at large.

The police's Kay Makhubela says the woman had bruises on her right hand and forehead.

"At the moment we are investigating a murder, we don't know how the woman died, but the post mortem will reveal. We are still searching for a suspect that escaped."
