Investigators close to finding the cause of Cape fires
SanParks officials have confirmed the investigation into the widespread blaze is still underway.
CAPE TOWN - The cause of the recent fires which raged across the Southern Peninsula will be made known within the next few days.
At a briefing at the Newlands fire base in Cape Town, SanParks officials confirmed the investigation into the blaze was still underway.
It is still unclear what the exact cause of the South Peninsula fires were.
Table Mountain National Park's Manager Paddy Gordons said investigator Rob Erasmus was due to release his final findings next week.
Meanwhile, officials say Arson was behind a fire that broke out in the Scarborough area, but Gordons could not provide any further details on this as the incident happened on private property.
