The MTS app was unveiled to Parliament's Portfolio Committee on Science and Technology.
CAPE TOWN - A team of tech-savvy doctors in Cape Town have created an app to identify high priority patients in hospital waiting rooms.
Doctor Yaseen Khan unveiled the Mobile Triage Solution (MTS) app to the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Science and Technology on Wednesday afternoon in Cape Town.
He said the app, piloted at Khayelitsha hospital, will help reduce waiting times.
"It basically allows even an inexperienced and junior nurse to perform triage in accordance to local standards very accurately. This has an impact in identifying those ill and makes sure we don't have major disasters in our emergency rooms."
