Tibbetts murder accused takes the stand

JOHANNESBURG - The state has closed its case in the High Court sitting in Palm Ridge, against the man who allegedly shot and killed three-year-old Luke Tibbetts.

Lindray Khakhu is accused of firing a shot into the vehicle where Tibbetts was sitting on his mother's lap, which hit hit him in the head.

He died days later.

Khakhu testified as the defence opened its case it's case today.

He testified how he panicked on the day of the shooting when he had a heated altercation with Keenan Mokwena over a girlfriend.

The accused also told the court how he ducked when shots were fired in his direction.

The defence is expected to call four more police officers to the stand tomorrow, before closing its case.
