SA paraglider confident about winning Red Bull X-Alps
The event requires participants to walk, run, climb and paraglide to complete the 1000km course in 14 days.
CAPE TOWN - South African paraglider Stephan Kruger on Monday said he was optimistic about winning the Red Bull X-Alps race later this year when he flies from Salzburg to Monaco.
The event, in which Kruger will be the only South African representative, requires participants to walk, run, climb and paraglide in order to complete the 1000km course in 14 days.
The 34-year-old entrepreneur is hopeful team South Africa will beat participants from all around the world.
Kruger said, "If the weather permits us to fly for ten days, we could finish the race in ten days but if it rains everyday then it's going to be tough."
