NPA welcomes four life terms handed down to child rapist
The rapist was found guilty on seven counts of raping and sexually assaulting his girlfriend's daughter.
CAPE TOWN - The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) on Friday has welcomed the four life terms handed down to a Cape Town man convicted of raping his girlfriend's daughter.
The sentence was handed down in the Wynberg Magistrates Court this week for crimes that were committed in Fish Hoek in 2006 and 2007.
The NPA says the sentences send a clear message that heinous crimes especially against children won't ever be tolerated.
The authority says it hopes the harsh sentencing serves as a warning to the public not to perpetrate criminal acts.
The convicted rapist was found guilty on seven counts of raping and sexually assaulting his girlfriend's daughter.
The girl was 10-years-old when she was attacked.
