Burger seriously battled life threatening meningitis in 2013 before making a full recovery and returning to professional rugby.

Burger says all he wanted to do was play for the Boks one more time

"Being back and playing rugby, especially playing for the Springbok. I just want to play one more test match, one more will be good enough. I played a few and I still aim to play a few more."

Burger says with hard work, he hopes to return to the player he once was.

"I don't think I'm quite there where I physically was in 2011, so you still find that for doing stuff that you previously took for granted. I still feel like I have to fight above my weight to do that. But I still think I'm getting very close to where I was."
