JOHANNESBURG - City Power has confirmed that two of its security guards have been killed at its Ennerdale facility in Johannesburg.

The two men were shot dead allegedly while sitting in a vehicle in the early hours of this morning.

It is understood two firearms were stolen.

City Power's Sol Masolo says they believe the killers were cable thieves.

"In our view, the people were trying to protect our cables from being stolen. And that's when they were attacked."

Masolo says they're shocked by the brazen attack.

"The manner in which they were killed was really horrifying. It was brutal, to say the least. It showed the anger and the force that was used to attack our guys."
