Chapman's Peak reopened, users warned to be vigilant

CAPE TOWN - Western Cape Transport MEC Donald Grant says despite Chapman's Peak being reopened, road users should still be vigilant.

The scenic route had to be closed due to the recent fires.

There are still concerns about safety along the scenic drive as catchment nets had been damaged.

Grant says people should still be very careful when using the road.

"I have spoken to some role players and I'll meet with a few others about the management regime going forward. However, there is still danger, especially with the first rains coming; we have got to be very careful."
