'Sex den' couple granted bail
The couple allegedly used an initiation school as a sex den to rape and assault 21 girls in Mpumalanga.
JOHANNESBURG - A Mpumalanga couple accused of using their initiation school as a sex den have been granted bail of a R1,000 each in the Mpumalanga Nelspruit circuit of the High Court in Pretoria.
Johan Mlombo and his wife Sister (her name) Khoza pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to 27 charges of rape, three of sexual assault and 19 of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
On Wednesday, one of the 21 girls who was raped at the initiation school, told the court she was the sixth victim to be raped on the night of 29 August 2012.
She says one of the accused, called her to the main house, where she locked her inside the room with a man.
She says the man then told her to never tell anyone about what was going to happen. The man then raped her.
She also told the court Khoza use to hit her regularly with a stick, accusing her of being stubborn.
The trial will resume again today.
