Clovelly murder accused still awaiting space at Valkenberg
The court postponed the case yet again so Kyle Maspero can undergo a psychological evaluation.
Kyle Maspero is to undergo a psychological evaluation.
He appeared briefly in the Western Cape High Court this morning in connection with the murder of Rosemary Theron in 2013.
Her daughter, Phoenix Theron, is currently serving a 15 year jail term after she entered a plea bargain with the state when she confessed to assisting Maspero in strangling her mother.
Wearing a black blazer and purple shirt, Maspero appeared before Judge John Hlophe in Courtroom 26.
The state says Maspero is currently number 23 on a waiting list for a bed at Valkenberg Psychiatric Hospital.
The prosecution therefore asked for another postponement.
The matter has been remanded until the 27 March.
Once admitted, Maspero will undergo psychiatric evaluation to determine whether he's mentally fit to stand trial.
