No arrests made in Vredenburg mob killing case

CAPE TOWN - Western Cape police say no arrests have been made following an apparent mob killing in Vredenburg on the West Coast.

The body of a 31-year-old man was found in a burnt out shack in an informal settlement there more than a week ago.

The police's Fredrick van Wyk says, "The circumstances surrounding the death of a 31-year-old man who was found in a burnt shack is being investigated."

He says police have opened a murder and arson case for further investigation.
