Road reopens after N2 protest
It’s still unclear who’s behind the protest or why the people are protesting.
CAPE TOWN - Part of Cape Town's N2 highway has been reopened following a protest earlier today.
The road had been closed off in both directions after a group burnt tyres and hurled rocks at passing motorists near Khayelitsha.
It's still unclear who is behind the protest or why the people are protesting.
Earlier the situation had been described as tense and dangerous.
Provincial Traffic Chief Kenny Africa, "Luckily no one was hit by the stone throwing, but we'll keep a close eye on it."
