#CWC15: Proteas hit highest score vs Windies - 408
West Indies have already lost seven wickets as they attempt to chase the colossal score.
JOHANNESBURG - West Indies have had a disappointing and slow start against the Proteas.
Imran Tahir struck four times, Kyle Abbot twice and Morne Morkel once to leave the Windies in a struggling position.
Golden boy Chris Gayle was bowled by Abbott in the second over and scored just 3 runs.
Abbott got his second minutes later after Marlon Samuel went for a duck after being caught behind by wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock.
David Miller caught opener Dwayne Smith from a Tahir delivery.
Smith scored 31.
Jonathan Carter was Morkel's victim after he was caught by captain AB de Villiers for 10.
The second non-scorer was Lendl Simmons who went out by way of LBW from a Tahir delivery.
Darren Sammy (5) was stumped by de Kock from a Tahir delivery and in the same over, new batsman Andre Russell was caught by Abbot.
The Proteas ended their 50 over innings by posting the highest score in the World Cup tournament so far: a colossal 408.
De Villiers scored a record-earning 162 runs off just 66 balls.
He now holds the record for fastest 50, fastest 100 and fastest 150 in the One Day International format.
The team lost only five wickets with the last dismissal being Miller who scored 20.
Earlier, batsman Rilee Rossouw was dismissed after he scored 61.
He was caught behind by wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin off the bowling of Andre Russell.
Rossouw and the captain went on to make a partnership of 134 off 79 balls.
Farhaan Behardien was at the crease with de Villiers when innings ended.

The Proteas won the toss and elected to bat first.
Opening batsman Quinton de Kock was caught for 12 by Russell off a Jason Holder delivery.
Faf du Plessis came on next and built a 145 run partnership with Hashim Amla.
Du Plessis was caught behind off the bowling of Chris Gayle and scored 62.
Amla followed in the same over a minute later going out via LBW scoring 65.
