CAPE TOWN -The Mitchells Plain Community Policing Forum (CPF) has once again expressed concern over ongoing shootings in the area.

The forum says at least four people have died since last Friday.

The CPF's Abie Isaacs says, "we condemn this in the strongest terms and we're appealing to community members to come forward with information if they see perpetrators running around with firearms and keeping our community hostage."

OVER 200 SHOTS FIRED

Earlier this year, police and other law enforcement officials were on high alert in Manenberg and Mitchells Plain as sporadic shootouts erupted in the areas.

The situation intensified after a local gang leader was killed.

The shootout in the gang-stricken suburbs ran into the early hours of the morning.

A member of the Hard Livings gang was also gunned down in his car before the shootouts took place.
