JOHANNESBURG - There are reports of protests flaring up again by Thembelihle residents in Lenasia this morning despite community leaders deciding to suspend the service delivery demonstrations.

Yesterday, several roads were blocked off in the area with burning tyres and rocks, some foreign owned shops were also looted and damaged.

Police used teargas and rubber bullets to disperse the protesters.

The residents' spokesperson Bhayzer Miya wants the local government and housing MEC does to address them today.

"The MEC is not coming, we will give you the whole day today. Later this afternoon at round about 5pm we will gather again and take a way forward."
