Analyst: Zuma faces PR challenge over private life
Concerns have been raised about more stories emerging from the president’s personal life.
JOHANNESBURG - While the presidency maintains that allegations of Jacob Zuma being poisoned is simply gossip, concerns have been raised about more stories emerging about the president's personal life.
It's been reported that United States and Russian doctors confirmed that he had been poisoned.
Political analyst Somadoda Fikeni says whether or not the allegations are true, this story will stick for some time.
"In this era of social media it's bound to happen that when you have many wives, these stories will keep coming. Even worse in this case, MaNtuli has had a fair share of being prone to the accident of negative publicity."
Speculation about the couple's relationship circulated after Ntuli-Zuma was cast out of the Nkandla residence last month and she was also not in attendance at the recent State of the Nation Address.
Sources close to the Zuma family have reportedly confirmed that MaNtuli was cast out after the president suspected her of involvement in the plot.
She has reportedly been unhappy after being sidelined following allegations that she had an affair a few years ago.
