Girl (12) caught in gang crossfire
The girl has suffered a bullet wound to the chest and has been admitted to hospital in critical condition.
CAPE TOWN - A 12-year-old girl is in a serious condition in hospital after she was wounded in gang-crossfire in Lavender Hill.
The child was hit by a stray bullet while walking home this afternoon.
Red Cross Children's Hospital spokesperson Angelique Jordaan says the girl was shot in the chest.
"I can confirm that we admitted a 12-year-old to hospital with a gunshot wound to her chest and she is currently in a serious but stable condition."
