JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng police say residents of Mamelodi in Pretoria east are burning tyres, blocking roads and protesting over what seems to be issues over poor service delivery.

Authorities say it seems protesters are complaining about still not having electricity in their area.

The police's Kay Makhubela says they're monitoring the situation.

"They are burning tyres and blockading the roads. No arrests have been made and no damaged has been reported. It's being monitored."
