CAPE TOWN - Relatives and friends of slain 5-year-old Kayde Williams have gathered in her home town of Bredasdorp this afternoon to celebrate her life.

The young girl's body was found in bushes in the area on Monday, exactly two years after 17-year-old Anene Booysen was raped and left for dead in the same town.

It's understood Williams disappeared while walking to her grandmother's home last week Sunday.

Residents of Bredasdorp packed a local school hall to pay tribute to Kayde with a video of the happy child singing and smiling shown during the service.

It was all too much for her parents to bear who were led out of the hall crying.

Kayde has been described as a lively and friendly girl who was loved by all who knew her.

Meanwhile, Bredasdorp police say the body of the man suspected of killing five-year-old Kayde Williams has been found hanging from a tree in a cemetery.

The police's Maree Louw said, "He was reported missing on Monday after Kayde's body was found and he was a possible suspect."

At this stage it's unclear whether police have DNA evidence linking Kobus Van Eden to the 5-year-old's rape and murder.

Bredasdorp community members meanwhile held a march on Friday calling for action.
