JOHANNESBURG - The Road Traffic Infringement Agency has confirmed that it will be implementing the points demerit system across the country this year.

It says it has weighed up all the problems around the operation of the system and says it's now ready for the national roll out.

This means drivers who commit traffic offences, will be given demerit points which will be recorded against their drivers licence or learners permit.

The agency's Japh Chuwe says, "We will be starting the national roll out in this particular year, 2015. The exact date which the minister will be pronouncing herself."
