Rea Vaya operators won't return to work today
Bus drivers went on strike on Monday but it’s yet not clear what their demands are.
JOHANNESBURG - The City of Johannesburg says Rea Vaya operators will not be returning to work today after negotiations with the bus drivers broke down.
Bus drivers went on strike on Monday but it's yet not clear what their demands are.
The city says it has instructed bus companies to approach the Labour Court to put an end to what it calls an illegal work stoppage.
Spokesperson Benny Makgoga says, "Unfortunately the bus drivers' strike is still on. We received confirmation from the bus operating company that they were unable to reach any agreement on the issues arising from the drivers."
