Muthambi: DA ad spend claims are baseless

CAPE TOWN - Communications Minister Faith Muthambi says the Democratic Alliance (DA)'s claim that her department spends a large amount of money on advertising in the New Age newspaper because of its relationship with the Gupta family is baseless.
The DA demands the minister explain how more than R10 million was spent on advertising in this newspaper saying it indicates how skewed government ad spend is towards this paper.
Muthambi's spokesperson Ayanda Hollow says the claims are baseless.
"It is very scientific the way we spend the money. We use the same software that calculates and uses all variables other than one variable that Mr Davis wants to concentrate on."
