CAPE TOWN - The 20-year-old son of a murdered Stellenbosch couple is living with relatives.

Henri van Breda and his 16-year-old sister Marli are the only survivors of a brutal attack in their home at the De Zalze Golf Estate near Stellenbosch.

Their parents Martin (54) and Teresa (55) and their 22-year-old brother, Rudi, were found hacked to death with an axe on Tuesday morning.

Marli has been fighting for her life in hospital, while the whereabouts of Henri were unknown until now.

Family lawyer Don Bosman has confirmed Henri is currently staying with his uncle in Stellenbosch.

"The uncle advises me that he is in a reasonable condition, taking into account his circumstances."

Henri sustained light injuries in the attack that claimed the lives of both his parents and older brother.

No arrests have yet been made, but forensic investigators are revisiting the crime scene today.
