Thokoza welcomes arrest of 'House of Horror' father
A man who allegedly held his six children captive for years has finally been arrested.
JOHANNESBURG - Residents of Greenfields in Thokoza on the East Rand say they are relieved that a man who allegedly held his children captive in the family home and abused them for years has finally been arrested.
Residents broke down the walls of the house after the 53-year-old man apparently attacked a teenager in the area on Sunday.
Police say the man also allegedly stabbed a woman who tried to intervene. A 21-year-old man who was reportedly held captive.

A number of residents say they always suspected something bad was happening behind the high walls of the house, now known as the "Thokoza House of Horror".
They say the man was feared by the whole community and claimed no one was allowed to go near the premises.
Police say the father of six assaulted a teenage boy earlier this week after he apparently knocked at his gate.
The incident prompted residents to break down the walls, which was when they discovered the conditions the youngsters were forced to endure.
It's alleged the children, aged between two and 21, were beaten and left to starve for days. They were also not allowed to play in another area.
