CAPE TOWN - Western Cape police have confirmed two more suspected mob justice attacks.

Late on Monday afternoon, the body of a man was found in the Marikana informal settlement in Philippi.

It's believed he was necklaced by angry community members after he was apparently caught breaking into a house.

The police's Thembinkosi Kinana says, "According to the reports, an unidentified man was set alight by community members on allegations of a stolen cellphone. We are investigating a murder case."

On the same day, in Lansdowne, passers-by found the body of a man who had allegedly been stoned to death.

Last week, an Mfuleni youth was stoned and set alight.

It's understood the community apparently took the law into their own hands after the boy was accused of trying to rob someone on their way to the local taxi rank.

No arrests have been made.
