JOHANNESBURG - Jozi FM DJ and murder accused Donald Sebolai has been released on bail after spending seven months behind bars.

Sebolai, popularly known as 'Donald Duck' is accused of stabbing his girlfriend Dolly Tshabalala in June last year.

He was arrested after being on the run for more than a week.

Sebolai was released on R10,000 bail on Tuesday, after the court heard that DNA results proved he wasn't lying when he claimed his hand was cut while trying to block the knife his girlfriend was holding.

The state had previously opposed his bail application saying he was a flight risk.

Sebolai told the _New Age _newspaper his stay in prison alongside convicted gangsters was traumatic and he's happy to be home.

The former DJ's trial is due to start next month.
