Suspected Century City killer 'linked' to missing woman
A missing woman’s belongings have allegedly been found with a man being investigated for six killings.
CAPE TOWN - Police cannot confirm or deny claims a missing woman's belongings have been found with a man being investigated for the murders of six women in Kensington.
The claim has been made by relatives of Sinazo Nhlapo, who attended the court appearance of a 30-year-old man, yet to be formally linked to the discoveries of six bodies near Century City train station.
At this stage, he only faces charges of rape and theft linked to an incident in February 2013.
Nhlapo's aunt says her niece went missing on 6 January, a day before the accused was arrested at his Gugulethu home.
The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, says since then police have informed them that some of her niece's belongings were found at the accused's home.
"Her uniform and bank cards were found at the perpetrator's place. The police came to us to find out how did these cards get to the perpetrator. We explained to them that our daughter was missing."
Police have not yet verified this information.
