JOHANNESBURG - It's 0-0 in Mongomo after the first 45 minutes where Bafana Bafana and Algeria got their 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) campaign underway.

In a very entertaining fashion both teams played an open brand of football.

Darren Keet was called in to make a couple of saves in the early exchanges and it was then where Shakes Mashaba's men began to open up.

Bafana captain Dean Furman produced the first real effort in the 23rd minute with a cracker of the shot that ricocheted off the crossbar and was followed by a nifty one-two play between Thabo Matlaba and Sibusiso Vilakazi that was stopped by the defence.

Andile Jali came up with Bafana's final chance of the half but Rais M'bohli was equal to it.

It's goalless after the first half.
