JOHANNESBURG - Proteas ODI captain AB de Villiers made history at the Wanderers on Sunday afternoon.
De Villiers broke the record for fastest ODI fifty as he reached the milestone off only 16 balls.
He then scored the fastest ever ODI century off only 31 deliveries.
The Proteas were asked to bat first in the second ODI against the West Indies and Hashim Amla and Rilee Rossouw got the innings off to a brilliant start.
Both openers scored centuries.
The first wicket to fall was that of Rossouw who went for 128 off 115.
De Villiers was out for 149, while Amla ended 153 not out.
South Africa set the Windies a target of 440.
