Bafana make six changes for Mali friendly

CAPE TOWN - Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba has made six changes to the squad which will face Mali in an Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) warm-up match to be played in Gabon today.

Jackson Mabokgwane gets his first Bafana start between the posts ahead of Brilliant Khuzwayo.

Siyabonga Nhlapho will fill in the right-back spot, while Anele Ngcongca takes up a central defensive spot alongside Thulani Hlatshwayo. Thabo Matlaba retains his place at left-back.

Captain Andile Jali and Dean Furman will control the middle of the park with Thuso Phala and Mandla Masango managing the wings.

Bongani Ndulula returns to lead the attack alongside Sibusiso Vilakazi.

The Afcon tournament in Equatorial Guinea begins on 17 January and runs until 8 February.

In Bafana's previous warm-up matches the team beat Zambia 1-0 and drew 1-1 with Cameroon.
