Bafana hammer Mali 3-0 in final Afcon warm-up

Shakes Mashaba and Bafana have now extended their unbeaten streak in official matches to 10.

JOHANNESBURG - Bafana Bafana will go into their 2015 Africa Cup of Nationa (Afcon) opener against Algeria on Monday full of confidence after Shakes Mashaba's men handed Mali a 3-0 hiding in Libreville, Gabon on Wednesday.

It was their final warm-up game ahead of the start of the continental showpiece.

Thulani Hlatshwayo opened the scoring for the South Africans in the 37th minute after connecting with a Mandla Masango cross.

Sibusiso Vilakazi grabbed his second goal in as many matches in the 82nd minute, benefitting from some clinical interplay in the Mali penalty area.

The Wits captain's goal was followed by Dean Furman's three minutes later to seal a resounding victory for the 1996 African champions.
