Find out how the celebrations will affect traffic in and around Cape Town.
CAPE TOWN - The City of Cape Town has announced road closures in the city's CBD in order to accommodate the African national congress (ANC's) 103rd birthday celebration at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday.
The ANC is expecting a total of 66,000 people to attend its birthday rally in the Mother City where President Jacob Zuma will deliver the party's annual 8 January statement.
The party's pulled out all the stops to rally support for the event, with its top brass campaigning in the Democratic Alliance (DA)-led province this week.
ANC member Nomvula Mokonyane told Eyewitness News that the party has relied on trains and taxis as there weren't enough buses to ferry everyone to the stadium.
The city has warned the celebrations will have an impact on traffic flow and has advised motorists to plan their trips accordingly.
