CAPE TOWN - More fires have been reported on Table Mountain compared to the previous season, officials said on Thursday.

There have been 32 fires within the Table Mountain National Park since October, 19 more than in the previous season.
At least 33 ground teams were deployed to battle fires, which spread across approximately 38,000 hectares.
Noordhoek and Mossel Bay in the Southern Cape were affected in what's been described as one of the worst fire seasons.
The Western Cape may still need help from outside, with 31 teams on standby from the Eastern Cape, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga.
