Proteas chasing 115 for victory
The Proteas are 9/1 and need a further 115 to wrap up the series 2-0.
CAPE TOWN - The Proteas have victory in their sights in the third test against the West Indies being played at Newlands.
Hashim Amla's team will start day five on 9/1 after losing Alviro Petersen late in the day yesterday.
Rain delayed play for around six hours on day four before Dale Steyn and Simon Harmer produced shining performances to bowl out the Windies for 215.
Earlier in the day, Marlon Samuels and Shivnarine Chanderpaul seemed to be steering the visitors to a competitive total but that changed when the hard-hitting Samuels was caught off the bowling of Harmer for 74. The dismissal sparked a collapse and the West Indies lost their last six wickets for 33 runs.
Steyn finished with figures of 3 for 75, while Harmer took four wickets for 82 runs.
The Proteas were set a relatively low target of 124 but would've been disappointed with the loss of Petersen's wicket in the final over of the day.
Faf du Plessis will join Dean Elgar at the crease when day five starts.
