JOHANNESBURG - The family of Reiger Park boy Cuburne van Wyk, whose burnt body was found in a field, say they fear the murder case will be withdrawn.

The only suspect, Nathaniel Katlego Mpoku, is expected back in the Boksburg Magistrate's Court today.

Van Wyk's aunt Leonora de Wee says they are putting all their trust in the investigating officer.

"It's a 50/50 chance because sometimes we feel nobody cares about us enough to tell us what happened. The justice system doesn't serve us."

Last year, the National Prosecuting Authority withdrew charges against a man accused of killing four-year-old toddler Taegrin Morris, also from Reiger Park, who died after being dragged behind his parents' hijacked vehicle.

Charges were also dropped against a man accused of killing soccer star Senzo Meyiwa due to a lack of evidence.
