JOHANNESBURG - Police are investigating the discovery of a 15-year-old girl's body in Daveyton in the East Rand.

Yesterday a building owner discovered the girl's body lying in a pool of blood in a rented room.

Officials say her throat had been slit with a sharp object, however no weapons were found on the scene.

The motive behind the teenager's killing is still unclear at this point.

Police say the girl was reportedly visiting a man who is renting the room.

The police's Mack Mngomezulu says, "The lady was visiting someone who was renting a back room. The person renting the back room is not around at present."

At the same time in Mauritius, investigations continue into the alleged murder of a woman from Fourways whose bruised body was found in a swimming pool at the Anahita resort.

Cape Town police are also in the process of identifying the body of a man discovered tied to a shark net off the beach in Fish Hoek on Friday.
