EASTERN CAPE - Three men have escaped a burning bus in the Eastern Cape.

They were sleeping in the tour bus when it was apparently set alight early this morning.

Police believe it was an arson attack but no arrests have yet been made.

The police's Jackson Manatha says the motive is still unknown.

"The workers of the bus say they saw a small car speeding away from them. They saw a five litre container that had some petrol inside which means it was intentionally set alight."
