CAPE TOWN - A Cape Town woman has been granted R30,000 bail after she was nabbed collecting a consignment of drugs from a courier company.

Thirty-two-year-old Bulelwa Yokwana was arrested after staff at the Time Freight courier company alerted the Hawks of a suspicious parcel awaiting collection at their Montague Gardens offices.

This after officials received a tip off about the suspicious parcel.

Yokwana appeared in the Cape Town District Court on Wednesday on charges of dealing in drugs.

The package contained almost 20 kilograms of Tik.

Magistrate Moegamad Esau ordered Yokwana to pay R30,000 bail when she appeared in court.

Esau said the seriousness of the offence compelled the court to set stringent bail conditions as the whole of Cape Town would have been flooded with drugs had the suspect not been caught.

The trial has been postponed to the 29th of April next year.
