JOHANNESBURG - A six-month-old baby and a woman have been killed after being struck by lightning in Mpondi in KwaZulu-Natal.

A 28-year-old man and his four year old daughter were also seriously injured by the lightning yesterday afternoon.

In another incident, another woman and two children were injured by lightning in the same area.

KwaZulu-Natal emergency services officials say they've responded to two cases of lightning strikes this weekend.
