CAPE TOWN - Just five days before Christmas more than 100 people have been left homeless after five fires broke out in Cape Town overnight destroying thirty shacks.

The city's disaster risk management says a total of 118 people have been displaced.

The areas include Ravensmead, Khayelitsha, Hout Bay, Fisantekraal and Kraaifontein.

The city's disaster management's Wilfred Solomons-Johannes says the fires didn't cause any injuries or deaths.

"No one was injured and the city will be assisting the affected victims."
