CAPE TOWN - Eyewitness News has compiled a list of fun and cost-effective activities to do with the whole family in Cape Town and Johannesburg for under R150.

JOHANNESBURG

World of Golf - Midrand

World of Golf offers fun-filled golfing with friends and family with its diverse facilities like the nine-hole wedge and putt course with water features and hazards.

The facility also offers specials like family night on Thursday. Members can bring a friend or family member and receive 50 percent off the entrance fee.

The daily rate for non-members is R139.

Northgate Ice Rink - Randburg

The ice rink in Northgate is a guaranteed win with kids as it offers hours of endless skating fun.

It also occasionally hosts events like laser parties with famous local DJs and product launches.

The entrance fee is only R55 and skate hire is R25.

A-maize-ing Mazes! Honeydew

Honeydew Mazes has been in operation for 10 years and has hosted events for companies, schools and charities.

The maize not only provides a fun activity but it also improves logic and problem solving skills in both children and adults.

Tickets cost R120 per adult and R80 per child.

No bookings are required.

Croc City Crocodile and Reptile Park_ Nietgedacht_

Croc City Reptile Park has many activities to keep young and old busy for hours on end.

It will also become the first reptile venue in South Africa with a professional flyover that will allow holidaymakers to fly over crocodiles.

The park hosts everything from birthday parties to company events and has a beer restaurant for adults wanting to unwind.

Entrance fees per adult R70 and R50 per child.

Africa's largest Bird Park Hout Bay

World of Birds is the largest bird park in Africa and one of the few in the world. It has over 3,000 birds of 400 different species.

The park receives over 100,000 visitors annually and is a sure way to leave tough to impress kids in awe.

Charley's Bakery Cape Town

The bakery is famously known for their Charly's Cake Angels and is situated in District Six.

Galileo Open Air Cinema Cape Town

Catch a classic movie such as Grease and The Wizard of Oz under the stars at an affordable price.

A ticket will cost R80, a blanket R10 and a chair is on hire for R20.

Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden Cape Town

The Centenary Tree Canopy Walkway is a new curved steel and timber bridge that winds and dips its way through and over the trees of the arboretum.

It's inspired by a snake skeleton and is informally called 'the boomslang' (tree snake).

It is a sure way of winning points with the whole family as it offers adventure and a spectacular view.

Tickets are R45 for adults, R10 for children with kiddies under six entering for free.
