JOHANNESBURG - Free State police are urging customers of the recently torched Mandela Park Shopping Centre to be patient as investigations into an arson attack continue.

A suspect has been arrested in connection with the attack, which has seen more than 10 stores and local radio station, Qwa Qwa Radio, destroyed.

It's alleged the man set the station alight on Sunday morning to settle a grudge after allegedly being insulted on air in 2010.

Police say customers are demanding to get clothes and other items they'd placed on lay-by.

Police spokesperson Mmako Mophiring says, "You can't really come here and claim that you need to get your lay-bys. That cannot happen because clearly it's ashes."
