Madonsela roots out maladministration in George
In a recent report the Public Protector recommends disciplinary action be taken against Trevor Botha.
JOHANNESBURG - Public Protector Thuli Madonsela has found a George municipal manager guilty of maladministration after the irregular appointment of an official in the area.
In a recent report the Public Protector recommends disciplinary action be taken against Trevor Botha after he unlawfully hired Patrick Buys as an area co-ordinator in Touwsranten.
Among the findings, Madonsela stipulates due process was not followed in Buys' appointment and he does not hold the neccessary qualifications for the job.
George Mayor, Charles Standers, says his office plans to implement remedial action early next year.
"Processes will start in the new year, with the recommendation of the public protector to take the report to council. Proper processes will be followed."
