CAPE TOWN - A Cape Town actor, who was flung from a car after hitting a concrete barrier on the N2 near Langa, has died.

It's believed Thabang Sidloyi was a passenger in the BMW which smashed into the barrier on the N2 highway on Friday.

It's still not clear what exactly caused the crash, but footage of the accident is doing the rounds on social media.

In the video you can see a silver BMW careening across several lanes and smashing into a concrete barrier.

The passenger on the vehicle is then flung from the car before landing on the road before the vehicle bursts into flames.

Sidloyi acted in a feature film called The Good Man.

His manager Andile Kosi says he's heartbroken.

"We're really heartbroken It is really heartbreaking because he was one of the talented guys, very dedicated, handsome and focused."

Kosi described him as a hard worker.

"I knew him way back before he became an actor. It's very sad because he is one of the talented guys."

Kosi says he was left devastated by the news of the Gugulethu man's death after speaking to his family.

It's not yet clear exactly how many occupants were in the vehicle.
