CAPE TOWN - Two Cape Town children have died in separate drowning incidents over the weekend.

On Sunday night, an 11-year-old boy drowned in a Monwabisi tidal pool while the police dive unit recovered the body of a 12-year-old boy from the Kleinrivier Lagoon near Hermanus earlier in the day.

The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI)'s Craig Lambinon says, "On Sunday evening, the NSRI in Strandfontein were activated to the Monwabisi tidal pool, where it was reported by a family that their 11-year-old child from Khayelitsha had failed to come out of the tidal pool."

Meanwhile, rescuers will this morning continue their search for a 20-year-old man who was reported missing after being swept out to sea in Kleinmond at the weekend.
