CAPE TOWN - The girlfriend of a young 18-year-old Uitsig man who was gunned down says gangsters had threatened him before the incident occurred.

Luciano Davids was murdered on Tuesday.

His girlfriend, Kimberley-Anne Jacobs has told Eyewitness News she believes he was targeted after he refused to join a gang.

Jacobs, who is pregnant with her first child, says she is saddened that her baby will now have to grow up without a father.

"For me, it's complicated because every time I think of him, I just think of how it will be when my child grows up without a father. I know his friends can help me, but still they won't do the things that he could do for me."

This incident comes just days after 17-year-old Justin Langley and his uncle were also murdered in Uitsig.
