Thousands pay tribute to Madiba through sport

PRETORIA - There is a hive of activity at the Union Buildings today as thousands of South Africans have come out to honour former president Nelson Mandela.
Madiba passed away on 5 December last year.
The streets of Pretoria have become a hive of activity as South Africans from all walks of life pay homage to the global icon.
Fitness enthusiasts took part in several races the day had to offer including a 67km cycle, a 9,4km run as well as a 5km walk.
Several of the country's top performers including Lira and Kurt Darren are expected to keep the crowd on their feet throughout the day.
